![]() This Flow X13 is a keeper just like Alienware 13 R3 with a combination of AGA port, Thunderbolt 3 port, and two PCIe M.2 sockets. It's somewhat of a hindrance during the Thunderbolt 3 eGPU setup process too. Con ROG Flow X13 2 en 1, los juegos más potentes nunca han sido tan flexibles, portátiles gaming con las mejores tarjetas graficas del mercado. ![]() I really never had a use for the RTX 3050 Ti dGPU. I wish there was an iGPU-only option in my market. ![]() It's a very compact laptop for the power it packs. For now, I'm happy with connecting eGPU through XGm port and USB4 port. There's a PCIe 4.0 M.2 socket on the motherboard too. The ROG Flow X13 is one of the few laptops that can connect to eGPU through multiple interfaces. Even though the desktop RTX 3080 is running through Thunderbolt 3 connection (less than half the bandwidth), it is outperforming the RTX 3080 laptop version inside XG Mobile about 30%. The smaller XG Mobile RTX 3080 runs much louder than the Gaming Box (58 dBA vs 43 dBA). I ran some synthetic benchmarks through external monitor mode, through HDMI port on both XG Mobile and AORUS Gaming Box. I will be experimenting with Manual mode when the laptop runs with USB4/Thunderbolt eGPU only and see how the CPU behaves. I usually set the power mode to Turbo in Armoury Crate when running with the eGPU. It needs the XG Mobile or original power adapter to get 100W PD. I have to hot-plug the USB4 cable once Windows 11 fully loads in order to use the AORUS RTX 3080 Gaming Box.Īnother headache is ASUS' decision to limit third-party charger at 65W PD. However, there's no video output to either the laptop display or the external monitor. The ROG Flow X13 detects the eGPU at boot and uses the eGPU-attached monitor as its main screen. The Nvidia drivers were compatible with both XG Mobile RTX 3080 and AORUS RTX 3080 Gaming Box.īooting up with the AORUS Gaming Box is an issue at the moment. The installer detected the RTX 3050 Ti dGPU fine. The Asus ROG Flow X13 with XG Mobile is an ambitious attempt at a laptop that can do it all with a light, portable eGPU with a mobile RTX 3080. I used the latest Nvidia Gaming drivers for RTX 3080 desktop. After several tries with Windows not able to handle which drivers to use for which eGPU, I started by running DDU with only the RTX 3050 Ti dGPU present. The installation is a bit tricky because of the XG Mobile graphics switching utility. With this arrangement, we can run two eGPU at once!Ģ022 ASUS ROG Flow X13 – Ryzen 9 6900HS - Radeon Graphics iGPU & RTX 3050 Ti dGPU/16GB RAM/1TB SSDĪSUS XG Mobile RTX 3080 + AORUS Gaming Box RTX 3080 +. A thoughtful decision by ASUS engineers to leave the USB-C port inside the XGm port as is, and activate the other USB-C port on the right side of the Flow X13 for USB4. Thanks to for sharing his build I found there's a beta BIOS that enables USB4/Thunderbolt 4 for this model (GV301RE). I have been waiting for ASUS to provide USB4 upgrade on this ROG Flow X13 since spring.
